Not being involved in the situation, but knowing this person to be a pretty genuine person and very upfront but kind about their beliefs as a true Christian should (everything in love folks) I listened to her, and watched as more insults, in my opinion were hurled at her from these "leaders", and I have to say I was astonished, but not surprised.
I have had my experience in dealing with this before so I might not be the guy she needs in her corner, but I can't keep quiet on it any longer.
I don not believe my friend was in any way trying to hurt the group or be a "counter productive Christian". I believe she was doing a very sensible thing and doing as we all should and praying for the leaders. If things are like I remember and saw recently on facebook, and even if everything's sunshine and daisies why not pray for the leaders anyway.
Look if your leaders of your Christian group are doing un-Christlike things where do you thing those that follow the leaders are going? It makes sense.
No it is not fair to judge and entire group of people based solely on the reactions of a few, but this was not happeneing, and you can say "Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged(Matt 7:1)" but you'd better remember this one Matt 18 when Jesus tells us how many times we are to forgive those who speak ill or do bad things. He said we are to forgive those who sin against us not 7 but 70 times 7.
I believe there is forgiveness necessated from ALL parties including myself. I hope whomever can find it in their hearts to forgive me. For 6 years I've asked for it only receiving cold from leaders in this very same group, but I'm here to say I forgive them....and I truly mean that its nice to have peace. I'm sure my friend has shown forgiveness as well. My fear is that its not being returned,
